Due Diligence (DD)
The structured investigation an LP conducts before committing capital to a fund or co-investment.
DD spans investment, operational, legal, and ESG workstreams. Mature programs run a standard playbook with stage gates, owner accountability, and a documented evidence trail.
The goal is not to confirm the recommendation. It is to build a record that future team members can audit and that holds up under regulator or fiduciary scrutiny.
