IC Memo
The written investment recommendation that anchors an IC discussion and becomes the permanent record of the decision.
A strong IC memo states the recommendation up front, articulates the thesis in three or four lines, surfaces the two or three real risks, and concludes with measurable post-investment monitoring criteria.
Length is not quality. A six-page memo focused on the decision is worth more than a forty-page memo that buries it.
