The persistent record of why decisions were made, what was discussed, and what was learned - independent of any individual on the team.
Institutional memory is the single most fragile asset in a small allocator team. When a senior PM leaves, years of GP context, relationship history, and decision rationale walk out the door - unless it has been captured systematically.
The fix is not heroic effort. It is small daily habits: meeting notes captured the same day, decisions journaled at the moment, side-letter rights logged on receipt.
